Where We Came From
Canvas GFX, Inc. was originally part of Deneba Systems, and was acquired in 2003 by
ACD Systems International Inc., a Canadian digital imaging software firm headquartered in Victoria, Canada, In 2017 Canvas GFX was spun out of ACD as a separate company and now has its own management team and Board of Directors. The new team is charged with developing Canvas GFX into the standard solution for technical documentation covering the complete documentation life-cycle, from inception to publishing.
What We Are About
The Canvas software is used by engineers to document and share complex objects and systems. Some of the largest companies in the aerospace, defence and manufacturing markets use Canvas as an integral part of their documentation workflow. Some our customers include Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins, Caterpillar, GE, BP and hundreds of others. Known for its dedicated precision, Canvas supports a multitude of data and design formats (CAD, CGM, GIS, text, jpeg, etc), and retains non-visual data—often found in 3D CAD files.
Where We’re Going
Canvas is fully committed to continue to develop our product line to meet the ever-changing requirements of our major customers. From its origins in technical illustration, Canvas is developing solutions that address the rapidly emerging arena of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The next generation products will allow designers to work collaboratively with their suppliers, customers and other internal groups about the technical documentation, incorporate 2D and 3D elements and make the entire workflow simple and easy to use, while delivering all of this is in a SaaS-based offering.
