65bit Software Limited specializes in the
development of high quality plug-ins for Adobe InDesign and InCopy.
At 65bit we are committed to providing best of
breed solutions for the database publishing, catalog, newspaper and magazine
markets.
We believe that the growing processing power of
today's desktop computers is allowing the development of a new breed of
publishing tools, offering levels of integration, power and ease of use
previously only seen in high end publishing systems. |
65bit Software has
released Adobe CC 2014 compatible versions of their powerful EasyCatalog
database publishing solutions for InDesign.
If you
create publications such as catalogs with or without photos, table-based
documents, or other paginated layouts, EasyCatalog will shave hours of labor off
your projects.
EasyCatalog
works directly inside InDesign and provides a truly simple, intuitive
drag-and-drop interface allowing you to speed through creation of your catalog
or other collateral. Simply connect to a data source (via the ODBC Data Provider
Module) or use tab- or comma-delimited text files from a database to streamline
the creation process. Photos can even be imported if the info is included in the
database file!
EasyCatalog can be enhanced with the following optional modules:
ODBC Data Provider |
Connect directly to your ODBC-compliant
database, such as MySQL, SQL Server, FileMaker or Oracle.
|
Pagination Module |
Paginate thousands of records at the click
of a button. |
Relational Module |
Work with multiple data sources
simultaneously. |
XML Data Provider |
Import data into EasyCatalog from an XML
file. |
Scripting Module |
Harness the power of EasyCatalog through
Javascript, AppleScript or Visual Basic. |
If you purchased a new EasyCatalog license within the last six months then the
upgrade will be free of charge.
|
Ideal for time-critical publications,
EasyCatalog
can dramatically speed up page make-up time and ensure documents remain error
free.
The
source of the data can be something as simple as a file or, via an optional
module, an ODBC database or XML file. If you have invested time and money
developing a database, you can utilize it to the fullest extent by producing
your print catalogs directly from it.
EasyCatalog also offers powerful ways to get data onto the document—templates
can be designed that specify how a record should appear when it is placed on the
page. Users can store these templates in a library and complex pages can be
constructed in seconds, containing live data, simply by dragging and dropping.
Don't
want to learn a programming language?
Users don't have to. The power of EasyCatalog can be exploited without using any
scripting or programming. Those who need to script are not forgotten, though, as
EasyCatalog can now be controlled from JavaScript, AppleScript or Visual Basic
via the optional scripting module.
Data is displayed in a spreadsheet-style panel within InDesign allowing users to
format, sort, group and query their data right from within InDesign. Users don't
need to return to the source of their data to do something as simple as sorting
or querying their data and they can manipulate their data to show just the
records they want to work with, in the order they require.
Both text
and pictures can be imported at the click of a button. The link is
bi-directional, so any changes made to the data on the document can be sent back
to the data source.
Five
optional modules are now available for use in conjunction with EasyCatalog:
