Altova Software Version 2013
We are proud to announce the availability of the
Version 2013 Altova MissionKit and complete XML, SQL, and UML software product
line! As with all our product releases, numerous features have been developed in
response to customer requests. You asked for the ability to use SQL stored
procedures in MapForce data mapping projects, to embed XSDs in WSDL documents in
XMLSpy, to add watermarks in StyleVision, and to integrate MissionKit
functionality flexibly in Java applications. All those features and more are
there in Version 2013.
We are especially excited to introduce Smart
Fix validation, which takes intelligent XML editing in XMLSpy to a whole new
level. Now, in addition to reporting comprehensive information about validation
errors, XMLSpy Smart Fix suggests corrections for each error, which you can
apply with a single click. There is simply no other XML editor that even comes
close to this. We can't wait to hear what you think of it!

We are pleased to announce the general availability of FlowForce Server, the
high-performance server for multi-step, enterprise-level data aggregation,
processing, and reporting tasks. FlowForce helps manage the automation of data
integration and report generation projects defined using Altova MissionKit
developer tools such as MapForce and StyleVision. FlowForce Server is optimized
to take advantage of today’s high-performance parallel computing environments
and is available for Windows and Linux. Support for MacOS will be available in
May 2013.
With its straightforward Web browser interface, FlowForce Server empowers data
architects, analysts, and other IT professionals to implement, monitor, and
manage a secure and robust data transformation server without writing or
compiling any source code. FlowForce server jobs can be triggered by date and
time, by arrival of files in hot folders, or by http command.
FlowForce Server offers comprehensive management and
monitoring for jobs that:
- Perform data transformations based on
MapForce mappings between XML, database, flat file, Excel, XBRL, EDI, and
Web services data formats
- Render HTML, RTF, Word, or PDF output based
on StyleVision designs for XML and XBRL data
- Perform file system operations such as
create directories, move or delete files, and run file system batch jobs
- And more
FlowForce Server provides
strong security measures through user, role, job, credential, and permission
definitions that enable multiple simultaneous jobs while preventing unauthorized
access to restricted data repositories or system resources.
For a complete list of
features supported by Altova® FlowForce®, please visit the Altova® Web site. |
MapForce Server is based on the built-in data transformation engine developed
for MapForce and performs data transformations based on MapForce data mappings.
MapForce Server can be executed under the control of FlowForce Server, or can
operate in a standalone configuration executed from a command line.
MapForce Server performs data transformations based on preprocessed and
optimized data mappings stored in MapForce Server Execution files prepared by
MapForce and uploaded over a network. Preprocessing enables faster performance
and reduced memory footprint for most data mappings.
When operating under the management of FlowForce Server, MapForce Server is a
powerful transformation engine suitable for the high-volume, quick turn-around
demands of today’s leading edge data centers. The standalone version is suitable
in a department level or other small environment that does not require the
extensive multi-tasking, job scheduling, and security features of FlowForce
Server.For a complete
list of
features supported by Altova® MapForce® Server, please visit the Altova® Web
site. |
StyleVision Server is based on the built-in report and document generation
engine developed for StyleVision. StyleVision Server can also operate under the
management of FlowForce Server in a standalone configuration executed from a
command line.
StyleVision Server renders XML or XBRL data into HTML, RTF, PDF, or Microsoft
Word files based on StyleVision stylesheets and uploaded by StyleVision over a
network connection.
Like MapForce Server, StyleVision Server is an important option for document
production by FlowForce Server, and the standalone version is suitable in a
department level or other small environment that may not require all the
features of FlowForce Server.

features supported by Altova® StyleVision® Server, please visit the Altova®
