SafeGuard Easy – Kiintolevyn salaus
Utimaco Safeware perustettiin 1983 ja on nykyisin yksi johtavista informaation tietoturvaan erikoistuneista yrityksistä. Kun kysymykseen tulevat korkealaatuiset informaation tietoturvajärjestelmät, salausjärjestelmät sekä käyttäjien tunnistusjärjestelmät tulee Utimaco väistämättä esille.

4.40, the new version of the established hard drive encryp¬tion solution. For the first time, users can log in with a combination of password, the Lenovo Fingerprint Reader or the RSA SecuriD S1D800 two-factor authentication token, even before the system has finished booting. The new log-in features require only a fraction of the time needed to activate the operating system; they also ensure the highest level of access protection currently on the market. By merging software and hardware security technologies (SafeGuard Easy with fingerprint sensors and technical interoperability with the RSA SecurlD S1D800 token through the RSA Secured® partner program), customers receive an integrated solution that will con¬tinue to protect their investments in the future.
SafeGuard Easy 4.40 is the only hard drive encryption product to implement pre-boot au¬thentication with fingerprint sensors integrated in notebooks. Utimaco worked closely with Lenovo to integrate the new SafeGuard Easy functionality via fingerprint readers on select ThinkPad notebooks. By combining the advanced authentication and encryption capabilities of Version
4.40 with the superior BIOS design and ThinkVantage Technologies that come equipped on ThinkPad notebooks, users are provided a rock-solid, layered security solution that helps ensure that data cannot be accessed without permission.

Background information about SafeGuard Easy
SafeGuard Easy protects the operating system and stored data by transparently encrypting the entire hard disk of notebooks, PCs or network servers, without the user even noticing. Depending on the company's security requirements, it is possible to encrypt parts of the da¬tabase or the whole database, as well as external data storage media such as disks or USB memory sticks. The new option of pre-boot authentication using a password, fingerprints or two-factor authentication tokens, and combinations thereof, prevents unauthorized access to data by third parties.
