Extend Working Space In QuarkXPress
PasteBoard XT changes the width and height of the QuarkXPress pasteboard. It allows one to adjust by value as well as by percentage, giving a wider range of options than that within the QuarkXPress application.
Select (Pasteboard Settings...) from the QuarkXPress Utilities menu and enter a percentage of the documents page width and height to adjust the pasteboard. Note that the resulting height will be applied to all sides of the document page and will in fact widen a smaller pasteboard if the height is greater than the width. Of course, the pasteboard plus the spread dimensions are always limited to a maximum of 48 inches. Pasteboard XT will then automatically adjust the spread and page guidelines according to the new dimensions so that they remain relative to the page.

Preflighting or checking your
digital layout before outputting to PDF and going to print is a
real must for those concerned about quality. Adobe's InDesign
has what they call a "preflight" function built-in. With this
video we will compare Markzware's FlightCheck Professional to
Adobe InDesign CS3's built-in "prelfighting."
See why we argue it is _not_ "true" preflighting that InDesign
is offering in the first place and how easy and comprehensive
FlightCheck Professional v6.1 is. The fact that you can not
create a preflight rule-set within Adobe InDesign's preflight
function (their are no preferences for it even!) makes it
virtually useless for a serious preflighter, even before we go
tit-for-tat, feature for feature. Pretty interesting stuff.
Keep in mind that in addition to preflighting InDesign files,
FlightCheck can check 50+ file formats. These include Adobe
Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PDF, QuarkXPress, Microsoft
Publisher, PowerPoint, Word and numerous image formats such as
EPS, TIFF and even Postscript. It is as easy as drag-and-drop
and you get the vital, interactive preflight reports you need...
